I was excited for this meet b/c i found out that i was only gonna have to swim in three events. But sadly another swimmer was ill and so i swam in another relay, thus i swam in my 4 events. Oh well it was tons of fun! Both the boys and the girls got their butts kicked though. I was really hoping to kick some antlers, but i think the panthers got skewered at this meet. But I will do better in the future!
THE END!
This is a blog that was created for my Creative Writing class. At first I thought it would be really dumb, but, after one day I love it. Blogging is Amazing, even if nobody reads what you write.

Kearny!!!!
Omgosh i can't believe it. My goggles stayed on at the Kearny swim meet!!!!! I am so excited. I swam a 50, a 100, a 50 on the 200 relay, and a 100 on the 400 relay. So here is how each event went:
1. 50: It went by really fast. My turn was somewhat slow but i think that i ended strong.
2. 100: I WON this race, except that... i was the only person swimming. Sad day.
3. 50 relay: Fast as always
4. 100 relay: Better than the 100 by myself. Someone wlked along the edge of the pool pushing me to go. I think that that really helped a lot. I now know how the people feel when i yell at them to swim faster. It worked though.
Even though Norfolk didn't win in the boys or girls swimmingj we did a great job. Travis beat out the Kearny divers. My sister didn't mess up any of her 11 dives (she was worried that she was going to be disqualified for messing up on her dives).
It was a good day.

A lesson that i hope i never forget.
Ok so this is a really deep title. It sounds really serious. My lesson kinda is. It doesn't deal with death, creepers, or job loss. What was my lesson? Well here it is:
So i joined the swim team. Right? No big deal right? Well it kinda was for me. Before i joined the swim team i wasn't really a a geek or nerd. I didn't really follow any normal classification. But i always regarded the "jocks" a little differently. I kinda grouped them together in my head. I always had the jokes with my friends about the "Jock-strap hall of fame". However since joining the swim team a light has been lit. I have learned that these so-called "jocks" were real people. I have had the great opprotunity to meet new, amazing people. I have also meet people from Norfolk Catholic. And you know what. They are just like the kids at public. I am so thankful for everyone on the swim team. They are supportive and they have accecpted me even though i am not the best swimmer.
So the lesson i never want to forget: Really don't judge people. Never classify. I know this will be a challenge for me. I have seen people who were burned my mean people who were in sports. I have heard the stories that i hope that i never have to go through. But i can't judge those i don't know from what others do. I really can't express how much swimming and other swimmers have opened my eyes. Thanx to all of you!
P.S. If anyone reads this please don't get mad at me for how i was before i joined the swim team. I thank you for everything that you have done for me!
Truly sincerely,
Michael Beltz

What is my favorite day of the week?
This question is always really easy for me to answer. The answer...... Friday and Sunday. What??? Two days? Yes i would have to say that both Friday and Sunday are my favorite days of the week. Let me explain:
Friday:
.................... Friday is an amazing day. I wake up at 5 AM to be at swim practice at 5:30 AM. I then go to school. (For those of you who don't know me i really like school.) I also have showchoir practice during my lunch. Then I have play practice after school. But the best part of the whole day is going to Dave's. Dave's is actually a store downtown where geeky gamers like me go on fridays for FNM. FNM stands for Friday Night Magic. I go and play a geeked-out card game for a couple of hours. Its also fun to talk and socialize with everyone there. Fridays are also cool b/c i sometimes go to movie nights at my friends house.
Sunday:
............... Sundays are also my favorite days of the week. Why? Because (1) i get to sleep in a little bit and (2) because i get to go to church. I know what you are thinking: "This kid likes to go to church???". I know its totally crazy. But i really do like to go to church. Church is not only full of people who love and care about you, but it is also time to go and worship God. I love praise and worship. I get the chance every week to experience God during praise and worship service. I can't really describe what it is like. It is something you have to do to understand.
So yes i have 2 favorite days of the week. So here is my question for you --> Are Fridays or Sundays your favorite days of the week. Respond if you want to tell me. If not, thats fine. Thanx for reading. TTYL.

2nd Real Swim Meet.
Argh!!!!! So today I swam in my second real swim meet. I swam a 50 in the 200 meter relay as well as a 100 in the 400 meter relay. My only problem?...?...? My goggles keep coming off!!!!! I get really upset when this happens. I can open my eyes underwater. That isn't the problem. The problem is that i can't breathe well when the goggles cover my mouth. Ugh.
Oh well. All is good. I believe that both the guys and the girls beat Freemont. So we did a good job. Freemont didn't do bad at all. They had really good swimmers and they showed good sportsmanship.
Thats all.

I invented something today!
Okay so if you read my bucket list you will find that i wanted to invent something before i die. I did that today. Here's how my invention came to be: I was in team sports and we were playing dodge ball. The odds were stacked against my team AND...........................we lost. But losing wasn't the worst part of the game. The worst part was spending half of my time out of the game b/c i got out early and none of my teammates were able to get me back in. So here is my invention:
instead of running one game you run several games at the same. If you get out in one game tghen you go to a certain side on the other game. This way you never have to be bored, doing nothing b/c you were taken out early in the game and your team was not able to get you back in.

First real swim meet.
Okay so i swam in Columbus. BUT! That didn't count as my first real swim meet b/c i only swam a 25 and i wore someone else's jammer. But yesterday, Januaray 13th, 2009 I swam a 50 meters in the 200 freestyle relay! I was the third person to swim on my relay team (team b). So i waited for the first person to finish his 50. Then the second person finished his 50. Now i jumped into the water. My goggles go into my mouth and i find myself swimming blindly in the water. I realize that my flip is coming up soon so i must open my eyes underwater. After the turn i swam like crazy back to the strating blocks. Columbus won the relay (cry). But thats ok. It was great. I loved cheering my teamates on. Today i could bearly sing in chior. Swimming rocks!!!

What I want to be remembred for.
Do not be afraid those of you who are reading my blog! I am not depressed or suicidal. It just happens that the some of my posts deal with my death. It is just a coincidence that these topics relate with my death. So back on topic.
When i die there are many things that i would like to be remembered for.
1. How i treated others
....................This is the most important thing i want to be remembered for. You can be remembered for your possesions, your accomplishments, or your awards; however, all of these things seem trivial in comparison to how you treat others. Bieng kind to a person on their bad day can change their entire day. One kind word or gesture can impact the world around you.
2. My faith
....................I was wrong. My faith is more important to me than how i treat others. But they are both really close to each other. Why my faith. I am a christian and i have been my whole life. That doesn't change anything about me though. Being a christian is more than just a title. It is a way of life. Anyone should be able to tell that a person is a christian in the way that that person acts, talks, and treats others. I hope that people can see a difference in the way that i act and speak. I also hope taht they will remember that part of me.
Thats it. I know what you are thinking. "Man this list is so short compared to the other one." Right now i just can't think of anything else that will matter once i die. Possesions and wealth will mean nothing once i die. How you treat people in this world is the only difference that will make your graveside filled with flowers or bare all year around. So thats the end of this blog. Hope you see more of me every time that i write.

My Bucket List
What i want to do before i kick the bucket (die):
1. Visit another country besides Canada or Mexico.
Why?
Because i want to see new people and experience a totally different way of living. I want to try new foods, see new people, hear new languages, and everything else.
2. Go skydiving.
Why?
Why not? Skydiving is one of the most amazing experiences that anyone can have. Feeling the air rushing by as you fall hundreds of feet in the air. WOW!!! What a rush! I really want to go skydiving.
3. Get a tattoo.
Why?
Once again, why Not? Tattoos are an amazing art form that allow you to create permanent memorials to friends, family members, ideals, and anything else you want. They can tell a story and keep memories alive forever. And also because they are REALLY cool. I want to get a really big cross an my back with angel wing going from the cross to both of my shoulder blades.
4. Go to college.
Why?
Going to college will be a whole new experience for me. I am worried about the costs of everything, but, I am ready for change. College is also a must because it helps you get a good-paying job.
5. Invent something.
Why?
Inventors are the coolest, craziest people on the earth, besides Language Arts teachers. I would love to help someone else by inventing something that could help solve the person's problem.
6. Compose an amazing piece of music.
Why?
Music is only of the only ways to break the language barrier. To create a piece of music is to speak to everyone who hears it.
7. Listen to a professional orchestra.
Why?
I love music. Hearing the music of an orchestra is very moving. The music speaks to you in a way that nothing else on this world can. I can't wait to hear an orchestra, possible playing that amazing piece of music that i will have composed.
8. Wear a speedo.
Why?
For the third time, why Not? I really want to wear a speedo since i have joined the swim team. I think that being able to wear a speedo will increase my self-confidence. If you can't love yourself in a speedo, then you can't love yourself at all.
9. Learn Sign language.
Why?
Sign Language is one of the coolest languages out there and it is almost universal. NOt only that, but it would look really cool to be paintballing and use sign language to communicate without uttering a single word.
10. Go snorkeling and paintballing.
Why?
I know that i threw 2 different things together, but i want this list to stop on the number 10. Anywho, snokeling is way cool because you get too see all of the coral and all of the sea animals. Paintballing would be amazing because you get your adreneline pumping and you have tons of fun.
So these are some of the things that i want to do before i kick the bucket. If i am somehow not living when you read this don't worry. I know where i am and if you know me then you know where i am too. Enjoy life! And do everyting you want to before you kick the bucket. I know that i want to.
